What materials does Mama Fern use?
We prioritize natural, skin-friendly fabrics in every piece we make. Our core materials include organic cotton, cotton-linen blends, and merino wool. All fabrics are selected for breathability, softness, and durability, which matters most for babies and kids with sensitive skin. We avoid synthetic materials like polyester wherever possible.
How do your sizes run?
Our clothing runs true to size with a relaxed, comfortable fit. We design for real bodies and real movement, nothing restrictive. Each product page includes a detailed size chart with measurements. For kids, we recommend sizing up if your child is between sizes for a longer wear life.
Do you offer family matching sets?
Yes! Families are at the heart of what we do. Our collections feature matching color palettes and complementary designs across baby, kids, mom, and dad sizes. We believe in coordinating, not identical, so each family member gets a piece that fits their style while creating a beautiful unified look.
What is your return policy?
We offer free returns within 30 days of delivery. Items must be unworn, unwashed, and in original condition with tags attached. Visit our Returns & Exchanges page for step-by-step instructions on how to start a return.
How long does shipping take?
Most Mama Fern pieces are made to order. We print your items in small batches within 3 to 5 days, then standard shipping takes 3 to 5 business days with tracking sent to your email. Expedited shipping is available at checkout, though it speeds up the trip, not the printing.
Why are your pieces made to order?
We run a little differently than the big warehouses. Instead of printing thousands of shirts and hoping they sell, we print each piece when a family orders it. Less waste, more colors to choose from, and clothing that was made for you rather than for a shelf. We think that's worth a few days.
Do any items ship right away?
A few pieces, like our totes, are printed ahead in small runs and ready to ship. If your order mixes a ready-to-ship item with a made-to-order piece, we hold everything and send it together in one box. One package, less waste.
Do you ship internationally?
Currently, we ship within the United States. International shipping is coming soon. Join our email list to be the first to know when we expand to your country.
Are your products organic and sustainable?
We use organic cotton wherever available. We're committed to sustainable practices including minimal-waste packaging and responsible sourcing. We strive to source all certified products and provide transparency with each products level of testing explicitly stated.
How should I care for Mama Fern clothing?
Machine wash cold on a gentle cycle with like colors. Tumble dry low or lay flat to dry for the longest garment life. Our natural fabrics get softer with every wash. Avoid bleach and fabric softeners, which can break down natural fibers over time. Iron on low heat if needed.
Do you offer gift wrapping?
Yes! We offer reusable gift wrapping add-on at checkout. Each gift arrives neatly packaged in a cotton reusable drawstring bag decorated with the Mama Fern logo seal. We’ll also tuck in a Mama Fern gift note card so you can add a personal touch. A nice touch for baby showers, birthdays, and holidays.
Where are Mama Fern products made?
Our products are designed in the Pennsylvania and produced in small-batch runs with ethical manufacturing partners. We vet every production facility for fair labor practices, safe working conditions, and environmental responsibility.
Do you have a loyalty or rewards program?
We're building a community rewards program that will launch soon. In the meantime, newsletter subscribers get early access to new drops, exclusive discounts, and first looks at seasonal collections. Join our community to stay in the loop.
Can I cancel or modify my order?
Yes, and made to order works in your favor here. Orders go into production 12 to 24 hours after they're placed, so reach out within 12 hours and we can almost always change sizes, colors, or cancel entirely. Once your piece has been printed, changes are no longer guaranteed.
